My Role
I was responsible for the UX & UI Design of the product, working closely with a Product Manager, Business Strategist, and CTO.
Brief
Challanges
The aim of the project was to develop a more sophisticated yet intuitive tool that could replace the need for an accountant but is very easy to learn for small business owners. The website is also planned to be designed after the whole UX & UI design of the platform.
The target group was very broad and diverse, from freelance designers to very small business owners such as markets or cafes. Therefore, the main challenge was to replace an accountant with various features in the easiest way for any business owner with no accountancy knowledge would easily learn and use.
User Research
Market Analysis
After some sessions to understand the business goals & user needs with stakeholders, I conducted wide research and prepared a very detailed report of benchmarking, market analysis & competitor analysis.
Personas
I created 4 different personas for the target group of the product in detail.
User Interviews
We set interviews with 10 people from each persona group, 40 in total, to validate personas, getting insights about their business modals, invoicing channels, work environment and etc. I tried to figure out what would motivate them to use a product instead of a real person dealing with all the account related work.
UX Design
Use Cases & User Flows
Sitemap
The feature list was set & prioritized to be designed as separate modules. For each module, possible use cases & user flows were created.
Considering use cases & user flows for each feature, functionalities were defined, listed, and categorized, a content library was generated and sitemap was created.
Wireframes
Combining all the outputs of previous phases, detailed wireframes for each module were designed and revised after review meetings.
